In the early morning at 2.30 a.m. everybody got up to prepare the last things for a Dana in the Deaf School, what should start at 4 a.m. It was a real traditional happening from the Sri Lankan Culture. Already one day before an experienced cook came to prepare the special food and short eats for this occasion. All the teachers stayed the night in the school to help with all kind of things. At 4 a.m. seven mothers were brought to our school to chant prayers for our deaf children and the adults present. It was a beautiful event, all the children were impressed.
When the seven mothers left, it was time for the children to eat all the special short eats with milk rice. They enjoyed the “special” breakfast! See also: www.kiri amma dana.lk
