The annual climbing of the mountain Adam’s Peak (2250 mtr.) was again a nice trip for the eldest group of deaf students of the Dr. Reijntjes School for the Deaf.
They left to Hatton round lunch time from where the climbing normally starts.
First they took a bath in the river by the Kitulgala Rest House, where in 1955 the world famous film: “The Bridge on the River Kwai “ was filmed.
The first part of the climbing was not too bad but the last kilometer goes straight up and took some time. All were wearing a lot of warm clothes and jackets, but still they felt very cold! All reached the top and could sleep and rest there for 2 hours, before starting to return. They came very enthusiast back to School with a lot of stories.
