It was in 2015 that my husband and I met Mrs. Doornewaard for the first time in her office in Colombo.
There was at once that click to say that we could work together.
During that first visit we asked her if she wanted to be the Patron of our Deaf School during her stay in Sri Lanka as the Dutch Ambassador. We were happy when she said Yes!
After that we met her several times during Dutch functions/celebrations and she visited our Deaf School on 4 occasions.
She liked Sri Lanka very much, was interested in the people and their culture. She can even talk in Sinhala.
We were very fortunate to come to know you.
We wish you all the best in your new country South Korea.
