October was also a rainy month. Many places in the country suffered from floods and landslides. In the south, schools were closed for a week.
Onder moeder’s paraplu
Rashmi, the dance teacher, came twice a week this month instead of once a week for the dance performance, which will take place on December 1. The material for the dance costumes has now been purchased and a tailor is working on making them.

Every week there was a cooking class for a different group. Chocolate pudding, pizzas, milk toffees and cake were made.

Sandhya, one of our teachers, was unfortunately diagnosed with cancer. She was urgently admitted for chemotherapy.
On October 27, a large group (22) of deaf people from various places in the Netherlands came to visit our Deaf School. They made a tour through Sri Lanka. There were 2 Dutch interpreters and a supervisor. They were very interested in the school work.
Bezoek Dovengroep Nederland
On October 29, Gayathri, one of our teachers, got married.
On October 30, a Dana lunch was organized for 3 monks from our temple, in which the children also participated.
