Poson Poya is a very important Day in the History of Sri Lanka as the Buddhists remember on that day that Buddhism was brought from India to Sri Lanka 2600 years ago. King Tissa from Anuradhapura was the first Buddhist King.
Most of the temples are beautifully decorated and a lot of people go to visit Mihintale in the Anuradhapura District, where King Tissa met for the first time the son of Emperor Asoka from India, Arahat Maha Mahinda.
Every year there is a program for the deaf children on this day. We went this time together to the temple.
