During the cooking class, the students made a cake for the first birthday of Kiyara, the baby of Mudithe (director). A fun party took place on November 7 in the auditorium, with all the deaf children and staff members.

One of the students, Dhara (an orphan girl) became a “big girl”. In the orphanage, where she goes during the holidays, the rituals that go with this occasion were followed. Mudithe and Tineke were invited to the home for the party. Dhara looked beautiful in a lilac dress.

On November 14, the parliamentary elections took place in Sri Lanka. All schools were therefore closed for half a week.
Nienke and Esther, the Dutch volunteers, went on safari during these days off and tied in a beach holiday. Unfortunately, Nienke got a bowel infection, which made her very ill. When she felt a bit better, they decided to leave for the Netherlands 14 days earlier than planned.

Rashmi, the dance teacher, started this month with a beautiful new peacock dance for the students. She provides the colorful costumes that go with it.

The test week for the transition reports started on November 25.

The parents’ day is on December 6 and then the children go home with their parents for the Christmas holidays.
